  • want kids to ask questions and see how things are connected.
  • students to get 2-3 “permie” concepts such as:
    • systems thinking (everything is connected). Students will understand that the ecological principles- system connectivity. (Wolves video) + Jersey deer debate
    • what is a system? what does it look like?
    • what is biodiversity? can be people or an ecosystems and biodiversity? what is monoculture?
    • Imbalance in ecosystem–rats, raccoons (no predators)
    • No such thing as ‘away’
    • storm water management- rain floods about subway disruption

Intro to permaculture : There is no waster; apply self regulation & accept feedback; integrate rather than segregate;

Afternoon: Connectedness–wolves video, deer, imbalance in ecosystem
